![]() ![]() Lack of voice comms in most battle modes is the real trouble, but it's easy to understand why WG doesn't want to do that. "Ignore the Yammy, he's gonna take six and die slap the Mino instead", or something like that. It's not going to happen in Clan Battles or voice comms-directed divisioned operations at all, because the team will be talking to each other in real time and co-ordinating their fire so they DON'T double up. Far less risk is involved for most destroyers in that scenario. Now in a nail-biter Ranked or Random battle, yeah, you can bet I'm not going to give two hoots if we're way behind and someone else blaps something I was firing at. I'm far less sore about it if I'm in a cruiser or gunboat DD that someone finishes first. ![]() But when it's someone close to hand who can recognize the situation and takes the shot on a doomed target anyway, it's more than a little annoying, especially in co-op where pretty much any torpedo launch demands a yolo rush to be successful: I've risked my ship and fired my torpedoes for nothing (or thrown away an air group if I'm in a CV), and I'm left with only guns against some rather angry opposition until I can duck away or reload. If a Yamato or Vermont half a map away took the shot before I even launched, I can forgive that. It goes both ways, I've seen several times when I have shells in the air and some torpedoes snake in from the side. ![]()
